Senior Love… (Twin Cities’ Minnesota senior, family, children, baby photographer)

Let me just say…I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING SENIORS!!! There. I said it. Because it’s true.

FUN FAMILY MINI SESSIONS for your CHRISTMAS CARDS… (Minneapolis/St. Paul Family Photographer)

Welcome to the World, Baby “P” (Twin Cities Minnesota Baby Photographer)

Baby P was a perfect model for me on the day of his first portraits. At five days new, he slept through the entire session! Yay! Just look at how adorable he is! Welcome to the world, Baby P!

A beautiful family… (Twin Cities Children and Family Photographer)

They truly are. Beautiful. In so many ways. They are patient, kind, loving, and genuine. This is the Rice Family. I joined them on their sunfilled farm last month and I had a wonderful time! Thank you, Rice Family, for allowing me into your lives and your home! I so enjoyed my time witnessing your family’s loveliness.

And, OH, what a better world this would be if every family had children who hold on to every word their mother says like these children do…and a husband who looks so adoringly upon his wife…and siblings who obviously care for and trust one another. And, if only every mother could be so tender and sweet with her children. Being able to capture the kind of love this family has is one of the main reasons I love photography so much. They are blessed, for sure! And, I am blessed for knowing them.

And, one last shot that was just for fun…to remember the trek we made down the dirt road that hot evening in July…waiting (no, begging) for a truck to spin-up some dust for us. I love me some spun-up dust on dirt roads. But, the rain from the previous night didn’t allow it. Oh, well. One more great memory.

Vulnerable

Do you ever avoid a situation because you feel vulnerable? Afraid? To some degree, we all need to do just that in order to protect ourselves from danger, right? However, at some point we might allow our feelings of vulnerability and fear to control us. We might hide behind them…and be a slave to them. When and how do we know when it has crossed the line?

I believe fear was created to help us, yes. But, I also believe that the devil can and will use fear against us, too. He will try to make us lose hope, lose trust, lose faith, and lose love. I am reminding myself tonight that I cannot let him win. I cannot let fear control me. I cannot be a slave to it. I am reminding myself that God wants both you and me to have MORE hope in Him, MORE trust in Him, MORE faith in him, and MORE love for Him.

Unfortunately, when I am feeling vulnerable or fearful, I sometimes make the mistake of placing my hope in people. However, I am always reminded of my mistake…by disappointment. It’s a brutal thing, that disappointment. Then I remember that, instead, I should have placed my hope in God alone. And, I stand reproached and humbled.

In the end, I am thankful. Thankful that God bothered to draw me closer to Him.

I hope you, too, feel thankful.
